Common questions
How do I install Stash on my iPhone?
Open stashvault.cc in Safari → tap the Share icon → "Add to Home Screen." Stash runs as a full-screen PWA from there. The native iOS app is coming to the App Store soon.
Is my data really private?
Yes. Stash is single-owner by design: each user has their own Supabase vault with row-level security so nobody (not even another Stash user) can read your data. We never use your vault content to train AI models. Read the full privacy policy.
I created an account but I can see "Vault data is unavailable."
That message means your account exists but your vault row hasn't been provisioned. This only happens to accounts created before the database schema was set up. Sign out and back in — Stash auto-provisions on first sign-in. If it persists, email support.
Why is signup disabled?
Stash is a single-owner app right now (one top-level vault per install). If you want to give a family member or partner their own login, create them as a sub-account from Settings → Sub-accounts. They'll get a username + password to sign in at /login/sub.
How do AI features cost?
Stash uses Claude for AI. Each Stash account has a built-in $5/month soft cap that throttles excessive use. Within that, every summarize / rewrite / translate is around $0.001-$0.005. Cumulative spend shows in the AI panel footer.
Can I export everything?
Yes. Settings → Export → "Download archive" produces a ZIP with every item, folder, tag, and attachment as portable JSON + the original files. Take it anywhere.
How do I lock a sensitive note?
Long-press an item card (or click the … menu) → "Lock note." Set a password. The note's content stays encrypted at the boundary; only your password unlocks it on each view.
Something's broken / I have feedback
Email kleakes3@gmail.com. If it's a crash, include the time it happened — Stash logs anonymized crash data via Sentry and we can match it up.
